Accessibility

How we build this site to be usable with a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or reduced motion — what we test, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when something does not work.

Sable Signal wants this site to be usable by everyone who needs to book talent, apply to the roster, or ask us a question — including people using a screen reader, a keyboard alone, magnification, or reduced-motion settings.

What we aim for

We build against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We do not claim perfect conformance — no honest site does — but that is the standard we test against and the bar we fix to.

What we have actually done

This is what has been tested, not a list of intentions:

Structure

One page heading per page, no skipped heading levels, and landmarks a screen reader can navigate. A “skip to content” link is the first thing a keyboard reaches.

Contrast

Text is measured against its real background — including the interactive states that automated tools never check. Our division rows were sampled pixel by pixel against the artwork behind them.

Images

Photographs that carry meaning have descriptions. Purely decorative artwork is marked so assistive technology skips it rather than reading noise aloud.

Motion

If your device asks for reduced motion, the animation, the intro overlay and the smooth scrolling all stop. Nothing essential is hidden behind an animation.

Keyboard

Every link, button, menu and form control can be reached and operated without a mouse, with a visible focus outline so you can see where you are.

Forms

Every field has a real label, errors are described in words rather than colour alone, and nothing depends on hovering.

Known limitations

We would rather name these than let you find them:

The oversized SABLE SIGNAL watermark in the footer is deliberately low-contrast decoration. It is hidden from screen readers and carries no information, but it does not meet the contrast ratio required of body text. No content depends on reading it.

This site has not yet been tested on a physical iPhone or iPad with VoiceOver. That testing is scheduled. If you use one and something does not work, telling us is the fastest way it gets fixed.

Tell us if something does not work

If any part of this site stops you doing what you came to do, email hello@sablesignal.com and say what you were trying to do, the page you were on, and the device or assistive technology you were using. We will reply within one business day, and if we cannot fix it quickly we will give you another way to get what you needed — including handling a booking or an application directly over email.

We review this page whenever the site changes materially.
